Lulu Group Hands Over Support Cheque To Kochi Biennale Foundation
Yusuff Ali M.A. of Lulu Group has extended support to the Kochi Biennale Foundation ahead of the sixth edition of the Kochi–Muziris Biennale (KMB), supporting the Foundation as a Platinum Benefactor. On Saturday morning, Lulu Group India’s COO & Director Fahas Ashraf, Manager, Lulu Group India V Peethambaran and Media Head, Lulu Group India N.B. Swaraj handed over a cheque to Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) Chairperson Dr Venu V, at the KBF in Mattancherry. Dr Venu expressed gratitude to the Lulu Group for its “continued support” and thanked the UAE-based MNC’s Chairman M.A. Yusuff Ali for his “sustained encouragement” of the global art event. “We do not rely on commercial sponsorships or advertisements,” Dr Venu said. “We are invariably sustained by meaningful institutional support.” While the Biennale is held once every two years, the Foundation’s long-term vision is to develop year-round art and cultural programmes, the Chairperson said. “That is our dream, but we are taking one step at a time,” he added. COO Ashraf said it was a “pleasure and honour” for the Lulu Group to support the biennale. Describing the art festival as a “meaningful representation of culture,” he said he looked forward to visiting the venues. The sixth edition, slated to begin on December 12 and spanning 110 days, will be held in 29 venues across the twin towns of Fort Kochi and Mattancherry, besides Willingdon Island and downtown Ernakulam.
