We wish you a happy, peaceful, and prosperous New Year!
Dear Friends and Supporters,
The Kochi-Muziris Biennale has passed twenty days of exhibition–packed and crowded, exhilarating and immensely rewarding. While we knew that the public meeting with the artworks would yield powerful results, what has emerged is richer and far more resonant than what we’d foreseen. We are grateful to everyone who has visited and to those who plan to visit. We thank you for coming and engaging with the atmosphere of art and exchange that has taken shape here, and for your patience and willingness to stay with us even as the Biennale, like all living things that seed and evolve, remains imperfect, with rough edges.
Besides the exhibitions, our days were stacked with performances, walkthroughs, concerts, talks, and workshops. The opening week's evenings featured performances by popular music groups, including Shanka Tribe, Nanjiyamma’s Amma Kala Sangam, Karinthalakkoottam, and the Mehboob Memorial Orchestra. There were also performances by Yuko Kaseki and Uriel Barthélémi, as well as KMB participating artists Smitha M Babu, Zarina Mohammad, Mandeep Raikhy, and Mónica de Miranda.
